Registration
An automated scoring system (Spreadsheet) has been set up which requires some basic information, before the start of the event. Pilots taking part must Register their entry before November 25th 2021.
- Open your simulator and load the aircraft you intend to fly for the event, positioning it at your LOCAL Airfield, NOT in New Zealand unless you live there!
- In your Simulator, set LOCAL TIME/DATE as December 1st 2021 at 1200 Local time.
- Note the data on screen and fill in the form below please,
then copy and paste the form into a CIX VFR Club Forum Private
Message to Neville Munro, titled NZ CAPER.
Pilot Name Aircraft Registration Aircraft Type Your Local Time Universal Time (Zulu Time) Your local Airfield - This information will be used in the scoring system so that the data from each Flight Form can be automatically entered and scored.
- A Notepad file version of the form can be downloaded here.
Starting the Competition
Move your aircraft to your chosen New Zealand starting airfield. Note the time difference from UTC to New Zeland time. Remember that if you start a flight in daylight in the UK, when you move to New Zealand, you may find that it is night time.
Flight Logging
In addition to filing a PIREP in the Club system, you need to send a record of each flight to the Scoremaster, Neville Munro, using a Club forum private message. You need to send the Flight Report before 18:00 UTC the day following the flight. If you fly more than one leg on a day, a separate Flight Report must be submitted for each one.
For each flight, create a Notepad (.txt) file and enter the flight information as shown in the template Flight Report Fom below. Then copy and paste the form into a CIX VFR Club Forum Private Message to Neville Munro, titled NZ CAPER Leg X where X is the leg number.
