The Course

Turn 3: St-valery-Sur-Somme N50° 10' 25" E1° 39' 28"
Turn 4: Moyenneville N50° 5' 25" E1° 46' 18"
Turn 5: Start-Finish Line N50° 8' 43" E1° 49' 53"

Total distance: 24 nm
The race will be five laps, in an anti-clockwise direction.
There is a VOR (ABB 108.45MHz) South East of the airfield.

Turning Points and Markers
Turn 1: Canchy N50° 10' 45"  E1° 51' 19"

A very short leg, so be alert or you'll miss the turn! Climb straight ahead from runway 02, and by the time you get to circuit height, you're there. The village of Canchy will be on your right, and the giant Forêt Dom De Crécy ahead of you.

Turn left heading North East to...
Turn 2: Forest-Monteres N50° 14' 30" E1° 44' 30"

Keep the forest on your righr, and at the far end you'll come to the marker.


Turn left, heading South East to...
Turn 3: St-valery-Sur-Somme N50° 10' 25" E1° 39' 28"

218°, 4.4nm

Head across the Somme estuary, passing the semi-flooded meadows known locally as mollières. The marker is immediately in front of the 19th century Abbeville Shipping Canal.

Turn left turn to...
Turn 4: Moyenneville N50° 5' 25" E1° 46' 18"

139°, 6.6nm

Head back inland, keeping the river and canal on your left.

Turn 5: Start-Finish Line N50° 8' 43" E1° 49' 53"

Head back to the airfield, keeping Abbefille town on your right. Fly straight through the gates, and head on towards turn 1...

Or, What to Do At The Start Of The Race
The runway in use will be determined by the prevailing wind.

RUNWAY 02:
Climb straight ahead to 500ft then turn towards Turn 1.

RUNWAY 20:
Make an immediate 30° right turn after take off, and climb to 500ft. Continue as for a rihjt-hand circuit, and depart downwind towards Turn 1.

* After crossing the finish line, climb to 1000ft AAL and enter the circuit according to the published procedures.
* You may be required to hold until all competitors have crossed the finish line.
* Do not overfly the surrounding villages.
